Restoration

O soul of mine, downcast in shame,
Only your little faith to blame,
For had you turned to Christ and fled,
Or held fast to God and shed your fear,
You would know His presence nearer.

Now He is not very far, but waits for you to call,
Be reminded of His faithfulness to cleanse you of your fall.
For He is just and if He frees,
Free indeed is that man, redeemed,
God is perfecting His workmanship until His return is seen.

So be not troubled and do not despair beyond all hope,
For if He can save, then cleansing you is within His scope.
But the power is His, and so to Him you must cling,
No other, not you, nor another, can sustain your path aright.
Only God can uphold and guide you by His might.

So pray: Lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory. Forever. Amen.
