Waterblood

How I thirst for the water from the well at Bethlehem's gate,
If only I could taste, if even just a trace,
How I thirst for the water from the well at Bethlehem's gate,
If only just a sip, I ask for just a drip,
O how I thirst for the water from that well,
Men surround us bent on evil, inspired by the depths of Hell,
O how I thirst for the water from that well,
This situation consumes my joy, in Your hope alone I dwell,

I receive word that my men have redeemed the water from my cry,
To love me with their swords, they fought their way to the other side,
Then back they came, hundreds slain, in Sheol they now abide,
Oh Lord, our God, who am I? What type of son am I?

Far be it from me to drink this blood,
Water it once was,

But more than that, it's an offering to You,
You saved us with Your Goodness,
Filled us with mornings new,
You give us everlasting water,
Like this water too,
A water as good as life itself,
The blood that runs through You

The eyes of the Lord pierce through my illusions,
From Hiding place to saving face, removing my delusions,
Surfacing my inmost heart broken in its seclusion,
Dusting away the crusting clay which I reformed for ruin.

Restore, make new, bring me back to You,
Heal, reveal, hide me in Heaven's veil.

Like an explosion, an eruption from cocoon,
When you fill me up my pride bursts like a balloon,
The excitement of it all, the revelation of it too,
Drives my face toward the ground and my spirit up to You.

Restore, make new, bring me back to You,
Heal, reveal, hide me in Heaven's veil.
