How I thirst for the water from the well at Bethlehem's gate,
If only I could taste, if even just a trace,
How I thirst for the water from the well at Bethlehem's gate,
If only just a sip, I ask for just a drip,
O how I thirst for the water from that well,
Men surround us bent on evil, inspired by the depths of Hell,
O how I thirst for the water from that well,
This situation consumes my joy, in Your hope alone I dwell,
I receive word that my men have redeemed the water from my cry,
To love me with their swords, they fought their way to the other side,
Then back they came, hundreds slain, in Sheol they now abide,
Oh Lord, our God, who am I? What type of son am I?
Far be it from me to drink this blood,
Water it once was,
But more than that, it's an offering to You,
You saved us with Your Goodness,
Filled us with mornings new,
You give us everlasting water,
Like this water too,
A water as good as life itself,
The blood that runs through You

The eyes of the Lord pierce through my illusions,
From Hiding place to saving face, removing my delusions,
Surfacing my inmost heart broken in its seclusion,
Dusting away the crusting clay which I reformed for ruin.
Restore, make new, bring me back to You,
Heal, reveal, hide me in Heaven's veil.
Like an explosion, an eruption from cocoon,
When you fill me up my pride bursts like a balloon,
The excitement of it all, the revelation of it too,
Drives my face toward the ground and my spirit up to You.
Restore, make new, bring me back to You,
Heal, reveal, hide me in Heaven's veil.

The Goat
Carried on it's shoulders, the sins of the community,
Shove it off the cliff, let it be no more.
Shove it off the cliff, let it be no more.
I was about to write a poem about it, but part of the way through I decided to delete it and just write it out prose-style.
I'm walking singly down the sidewalk, a straight path to my destination. Storm clouds hover around in every direction. My eyes focus in on those straight ahead (they're also beating me from the sides). Weather the storm.

Thick cotton-clouds, descending upon the ground,
Black like Laodicean wool, never make a sound,
Subtly they weigh down
All those here who gather round,
Over time they suffocate with hate,
Or in dejection they drown.
Bring us back from death to life,
Renew in us the Spirit right,
Break our bones, then bind them tight,
From within our hearts, give us sight.

Finding Truth
I'm sick of being told I don't know what the Gospel is,
Surely it's not what they're trying to indoctrinate me with,
Rip my soul out, split my heart down the crease,
Pour out the blood and see if it is His that runs in me,
Peer along it's surface,
Run your fingers across the scars,
Feel the stitches that hold together the heart, once left in shards.
Tell me about the grace you have to sear more flesh
How you, by grace, can with judgment, invest
In hypocritical truth,
You say like a salve it soothes,
But all it does is burn me,
All you do is spurn me.
I can't stand the falsity,
The lack of love repulses me,
The Spirit of God emboldens me,
Broken, I am filled with potency,
Pure and blameless, Spirit, focus me,
All the people laugh, the joke is me,
Lo, I press, across my Red Sea,
The Lock has bound up all I see,
The unadulterated Truth's the Key,
Kill all the heresy,
Bind up all the Pharisees,
I can feel the eyes staring,
Evil doubts, captivate my mind blaring,
Those evil eyes glaring,
Trying to fix me upon their idolized red herring,
Google all your answers, swearing,
You know I'm confused at this culture I'm wearing,
In the midst of which the Gospel I'm sharing,
The Law preached is all about caring,
Remove us from our sins, let us not tarry,
Lest in the end our righteous punishment we marry
Surely it's not what they're trying to indoctrinate me with,
Rip my soul out, split my heart down the crease,
